A Beautiful Stretch of Irish Coastline

Need a break from the hustle and bustle of Sligo Town? Just a 10-minute drive away, the golden stretch of Rosses Point Beach awaits. Whether you’re up for stretching your legs on the 4km peninsula walk to spot the Lady Waiting on the Shore or hopping on a paddleboard, there’s plenty here to keep you busy.

Discover the rock pools that dot the shoreline, and brave the ice-cold Atlantic Ocean for a dip. Nothing will be more satisfying than a warm cup of arabica from one of the vans in the car park when you dry off. Hopefully, the skies will be clear, so you can catch some cracking views of the mighty Benbulben rising in the distance.

Be mindful that Rosses Point isn’t just one beach. They’re called First, Second, and Third, all of which can be squeezed in with one visit if you’ve enough time. Parking is available at the Rosses Point Beach Car Park, but it tends to fill up quickly, especially on weekends and whenever there’s a bit of sun, so get there bright and early. For those not behind the wheel yet, a bus runs from Sligo too.
